It is specifically designed specifically for FN or Fabrique Natione, 5.7×28 ammo is common in law enforcement and military agencies around the world due to its high-speed and small size which allows shooters to carry plenty of rounds.

A bottleneck, rimless cartridge is available in 5.7×28 rounds packed with bullets ranging in size from 23 grains to 40 grains. The muzzle velocity is typically somewhere between 2350 and 2,400 feet/second for more powerful rounds and 2800 feet per second with lighter rounds.

Created to replace designed to replace the 9mm Luger cartridge, 5.7×28 has fared well in rounds of NATO tests, but it isn’t a perfect replacement for that 9×19 cartridge. Tests showed that 5.7×28 ammunition superior to 9mm ammunition in the face of unprotected targets, and had equal effectiveness when fired against targets with protection.
